ERA 7 (1920 - 1945)
ERA 7 spans from 1920 to 1945. This ERA, entitled "The Great Depression and World War II", covers areas in American history beginning with the crash of the stock market that started the Great Depression and then America's involvement in World War II.
To learn about the Great Depression and New Deal, students were introduced to scholarly databases using the Michigan eLibrary. We had three objectives for our research: find a resource that relates to ERA 7 (Depression and New Deal) and adds to our understanding, download it, share it, create a citation on it, and of course, read it.

A simile is a figure of speech that makes a connection between two unlike things by using words such as like, as, than, or resembles. We had to create several examples of historic similes, using intangible and tangible words/phrases together. Those examples are listed below.
1. The Great Depression was like a forest fire, it was hard to stop.
2. The New Deal was like a court, sometimes it helped and solved many issues, but it did have some setbacks.
3. The Three Rs were like a hospital because they help you recover and relieve your pain.
4. The Hoover Dam was like strength because it held back the power of the river.
5. FDR was like the answer to everyone's prayers, because they wanted a president who would listen to the people.
6. The Stock Market Crash was like the power tower at Cedar Point because you never knew when it was going to go up or down.

For ERA 7, we had to make an animation, from the website "GoAnimate", that relates
to what we learned about the New Deal. The New Deal was greatly loved by many, but
not everyone enjoyed it as much as others.

We had to create a historical fiction story in which it told a story timed during The Great Depression. The story had to be based upon one photograph of our choosing. Within the story we had to include: a historical event, a specific person, a specific place, and a specific date. The historical fiction story can be found by clicking the button to the right.
